Rolling on my back... like a possum.

The splattering of the mud spatters all over my sparkly face my face gets turned into a cow patch just tasty.The carnet of the river thrashes against the rock.The wailing of the wind cries past my ear making my ear grums explode.Running through the creaky grass making my shoes grese so my feet slip out like a slippery eel.I wonder why I even ran maybe next year it won’t be so mucky.

We walk in all I hear is people cheering. I wait for my turn and we finally get called us down to do our gym.I get down there and the first roten was the volt it was so fun doing the volt. And then we go to the floor roten. I thought I was pretty go at the floor roten.

Then the price giving came a few minutes later and since we were the last group to do our rotens we were the last wons to get our price and unfortunately I did get a price but it was still fun.

We should be doing more to look after our native birds.

Many years ago visitors to New Zealand said that the bird song was beautiful, but now with many of our native birds getting close to extinction - this is not the same.

I am here to talk about how to save our native birds from extinction. Our native birds are declining in numbers, firstly because many of our native birds are land dwellers so the many pests eat the eggs and the defenceless nestling. Another issue is the loss of the birds natural habitat. Can we change these problems.The predators which include  so that we might again have the beautiful bird song.

rats,stoats,possums and wild cats were introduced to our country many years ago by the early settlers. New Zealand native birds many of which are flightless such as the Kiwi, Takahe, Kakapo and the Yellow Eyed Penguin became easy prey. As the years went on and the pest numbers increased and with our native bird numbers dropping the Department of Conservation and other groups are working hard to get rid of these pests.  They use poison, traps and hunting.  Getting rid of these pests gives them more of a chance to live safely. Humans still help though with breeding programmes where the eggs are incubated and the nestlings cared for until they can safely be released into the wild on sanctuaries which have become predator free. These sanctuaries and breeding programs are vital to New Zealand as they not only help our native species but provide education.

Protecting our country's natural habitat is also very important and the sanctuaries are a great start. Did you know that our country has allowed 30% of our land to be set aside in natural parks and reserves to preserve the country's natural environment? That’s great! So let's look after these areas. Don’t litter,  to prevent pollution and stop destroying anymore habitats. We can also make more of these habitats by planting native trees around as this is what they live in and feed on and  it might attract the native birds back.

Pest eradication, which our country is aiming for by 2050 and preservation of the country's natural environment are the things we need to work on.  

I hope I have educated you a little bit on how we can help preserve our native bird species so that they are around in the future.

We had a great time making the treaty and learning all about the

Can you smell that? It smells like terror and that's what it was like. Blood splattering everywhere. The walls were covered in red blood. It made me jump everywhere. But when we got into the dissection, it was ok. We got a scalpel and cut open the heart. Me, Fynn and Flynn got to find the holes in the heart.

Popping,the scent of the popcorn whispers in my ear.

It  fills up the bowl like a volcano.But  the scent  of the popcorn still made my hands jiggled in the air like I just don’t care.Crashing on the buttery popcorn,it tinges my tongue.Yum I heard the popping of the popcorn again.

What is that the smell.it smells like popcorn if it is then

you're in for a treat. There go the explosions in the bowl.Yum delicious smells min’s delicious popcorn but  it smells different. It smells like its surgery popcorn let  me go and get it out of the microwave here we go.

I take a big sniff it  smells delicious.My nose twitches as the sugary smell zoom's through my nose.

As the kids walk up to me i stand there like I am a stachow. We started to tell the kids and after a little bit the kids had it.

It was so funny to watch.Then another

group came to us .And they had a choice. The choice if they wanted to chuck it on to Flynn's head that was so funny to watch.

Then we had to finish.The day was so fun I hope we can do that again.

For the first day Room 9 went to Bike Day. The first game we played was the box game, that game was fun! The next game we played was the snail game, the rules were you had to come last to win. Then we played was footdown,  that was the best game ever.

The sloppy mud……. Our shoes popped off like a volcano. As we walked up Pirongia mountain, we slid down and exploded. Splish, splash. We walked through a creek and mud climb back up. It was like being in a rain forest because it was covered in tui.

The first race is the freestyle . As I  dive into the pool I zoom through the water I end up at first place and I was so surprised that I got first place.And the next race I do is breath stroke  and again I come first place and again I am very surprised that I come first place.Than I do backstroke but  I don't  come first  place I come second but I was still pretty surprised that I came second place.

Than it was the relays and I was in the fast relay and I was very very  very very very very happy that I was in the fast relay and then they called the fast relay as I dived in I swum as fast  as I could and kea team won.

For the first time room nine went for A swimming lessons I was so nervous to dive into the pool because it was so cold but i had to it gave me goose bumps when I Got out of the pool.It was so cold that it felt like I had A very deep groove on my back i didn’t want to jump back  in it was so cold.
